The Calgary Stampeders traded Junius Coston, an import offensive lineman, to the Edmonton Eskimos on Saturday for future considerations.
Coston was signed as a free agent by Calgary on May 18 and had been at the Stampeders’ training camp for the past two weeks.
The 6-foot-4, 325-pound linesman had played guard, centre and tackle for North Carolina A&T while in college.
Coston was a fifth-round draft pick by the NFL’s Green Bay Packers in 2005. He played 16 games for the Packers from 2005-07. He also had stints with the Detroit Lions and Oakland Raiders.
He most recently played with the Omaha Nighthawks of the United Football League in 2010.
