SAN DIEGO – Travis LaBoy
is a solid, consistent veteran, the ideal candidate to add depth at outside linebacker that’s capable of starting as well.
LaBoy, who spent last season in defensive coordinator Greg Manusky’s defense with the 49ers, has 28.5 career sacks, averaging one every 2.8 games of his career.
Drafted in the second round in ’04 by Tennessee, LaBoy also has played for Arizona and San Francisco in a gradual westward migration.
At 6-foot-3, 250 pounds, LaBoy cuts an imposing figure accentuated by long curly hair most of the year. Upon arriving in San Diego, he donated his hair to “Locks for Love,” a nonprofit that uses real hair to make wigs for cancer patients.
LaBoy will answer your questions this week. Ask him what Manusky is like behind closed doors, growing up in Hawaii and if he’s glad to re-unite with Travis LaBoy in San Diego.
