The Jacksonville Jaguars remain determined to sign veteren safety Darren Sharper, who seems to be surplus to requirements at the reigning Super Bowl champions the New Orleans Saints. At 35 he is not a long term solution to their secondary woes but given that 2007 top draft pick Reggie Nelson has hardly set the world alight with 7 interceptions in 3 seasons they could do a lot worse.

New Orleans’ Pro Bowl safety Darren Sharper seems to be in no hurry to leave the Saints and despite visiting Jacksonville has made no secret of his wish to re-sign with the reigning Super Bowl champions.

If he does leave and Jacksonville are not successful in securing his services then possible candidates would include the Dallas Cowboys who have not signed anyone at this position and possibly the Chicago Bears. Despite his recent injuries he can still do a good job for some team and I will be a major surprise if he doesn’t have a club in 2010.
