Wade Phillips & Norv Turner’s Jobs Safe For Now

After failing to reach the Superbowl this year the speculation over these two good coaches has been quashed following both being retained for at least another year thankfully. Both in my opinion have done great jobs despite being fortunate enough to take over good squads built by their predecessors. However it just shows the precarious nature of being an NFL head coach especially at franchises with high profile owners with Norv being rewarded with a 4 year deal and Jerry Jones giving Wade another year. Its short odds that Wade will be gone if Dallas don’t reach the Superbowl next season.

Christmas 2009 Game San Diego at Tennessee

What a treat for fans if not for the players and the spouses of non fans – a Christmas night game and at the start of the season this would have looked like a plum tie. Now with the Chargers having little to play for apart from trying to win 10 in a row and The Titans all but out of the playoff race it is difficult to see why they should produce a X-Mas cracker.

Whatever its a game and one of the teams will win (ok a tie is possible) but which one. My view is that the Chargers will ease off a bit in this one and given the Titans have a slim chance of a Wild Card they will win possibly not by much and I will predict a 7-10 point margin.
