Super Bowls 11-20 were marginally more competitive than the preceding ones with a larger number of franchises reaching the final. In fact 7 teams would make their first ever final appearance during this time,  however a hand full of franchises would still dominate with 3 teams going on to win seven Super Bowls between them (the Raiders would win one of their 3 in a different city) and Miami would lose in two.

In Super Bowl XI Oakland played in front of the first 100,000+ Super Bowl crowd and in XX The Chicago Bears would put on one of the most domineering defensive performance ever when holding the New England Patriots to 123 total yards of offense which included 7 (yes seven) yards rushing!
